A website shouldn’t make visitors work hard to find what they need. I plan the structure, navigation and content so important information is easy to find and there’s a clear route to the next step — whether that means picking up the phone, submitting an enquiry form, signing up to your newsletter or completing a purchase online.
Websites need to work properly across smartphones, tablets and desktop screens. I design with mobile users in mind from the outset, making sure layouts, navigation, images, text and calls to action adapt properly to different screen sizes rather than treating the mobile version as an afterthought.
A great website is only the start. People still need to be able to find it, which is why I build solid SEO foundations into every new website and work alongside trusted digital marketing specialists when more advanced SEO, AI visibility or Google Ads support is required.
Usability is also about the small practical details that can make a website frustrating when they’re overlooked. I consider things such as readable text sizes, sensible spacing, clear buttons and links, straightforward forms and logical page layouts so the website feels comfortable and intuitive to use.
Every new website includes Essential DFX Website Care as standard, combining secure UK hosting, SSL certificate renewals, weekly backups, uptime monitoring, security and malware scanning.
Ongoing WordPress maintenance is also required. If you remain on Essential Website Care, WordPress core and plugin updates are carried out every six months for an additional fee. Alternatively, you can choose one of my fully managed DFX Website Care plans, which includes Essential Website Care, more regular maintenance and ongoing technical support within the monthly fee.
There are plenty of decisions to make, from how the website should be structured and what functionality you need, through to hosting, security and what happens once the website goes live.
I keep the whole process straightforward. You’ll work directly with me throughout the project and I’ll explain the options in plain English, whether we’re talking about page layouts, WordPress, plugins, hosting, DNS or something else entirely.
I’ll keep you involved as the website develops, explain anything that needs a decision and advise you where I’m able to make the technical choice for you. If something isn’t necessary for your particular website, I’ll tell you that too – I’m not interested in adding features or functionality simply for the sake of it.
There are no account managers or departments to pass you between. If you have a question about your website, you ask me, and if specialist development or technical input is needed, I’ll help manage that side of the project too.
